Hope For Moses Fund Benefit Update:
On April 25, 2008 a benefit was held at The Blue Nile Restaurant in Minneapolis. It was a celebration of HOPE: Hope for Moses, and hope for children with physical and emotional challenges in Nigeria. Two bands provided the entertainment: Wanaku the Tribal Monk and his friends, and Innocent and his friends. Everyone had a good time dancing, laughing, eating, socializing, and celebrating progress towards the Hope For Moses Fund mission. Various local businesses donated wonderful door prizes for those who attended. FOX 9 news provided coverage of the event, a follow-up to an interview Karen Cooper had on the FOX 9 Morning Show on 04-23-08.
Karen showed a video of Moses, which can be viewed on this web site. Music for the video was provided courtesy of Lizanne Knott, a wonderful artist with an amazing gift to touch your soul with her words and music. The song in the video is called, "Carry You Home."
Karen spoke briefly about the Hope For Moses Fund mission, and her determination to get Moses the medical care he needs and deserves to live life to his fullest potential. She informed guests that Shriner's Hospital for Children Twin Cities has agreed to provide a medical screen, Therapy Connections for Kids has agreed to provide rehabilitation services, and United Family Practice Health Center in St. Paul has agreed to provide ongoing medical care as needed.
At this point, we are over half way to our goal of raising $10,000 before proceeding to apply for a VISA for Moses. Of course, our ultimate goal is to continue to grow and raise enough money to help other children in Nigeria in the future!
Karen Cooper's favorite African Proverb is, "When spider webs unite, they can tie up a lion." It is because of the support, donations, and other contributions of every one of you that the Hope For Moses Fund is becoming strong enough to make anything possible! Na Gode (thank you)!
